Biography

Originally from Antwerp, Martine Hermans Frisvold is now settled down in Brussels after having spent two years in Peking, followed by one year stay in Florence, where she obtained a certificate in "Arte Orafo" at the Accademia Raymond Riachi and gained practical experience while working in the silver factory of Brandimarte.

The urge to continually broaden her horizons led her to discover the American capital, Washington where she combined her studies of gemology "Certificate of Practical Gemology" at the Columbia School of Gemology and worked in a jewellery boutique.

Married in 1991, she lived for 4 years in Paris where she got a charming "atelier" in the 5th district. She took part in several fairs as "Bijorhca", "The World Gold Council", and sold her collection tho the world-famous Harrods department store in London.

In 1995, her first little girl, Zoe, was born. The next destination was Oslo where, in 1996, she gave birth to a second girl, Ruby, named after her favorite stone. 

Having arrived in Brussels in 1997, Martine Hermans Frisvold went back to school at "les Arts et Metiers" where she obtained a degree in "joaillerie".

Several exhibitions took place as well in Brussels as in Luxembourg.

Gaining new techniques, she enlarged her ways of expression in more constructed shapes.

In 2003, she created her new collection named: "SKIN & SOUL"

Starting from her body, she creates moulds in precious metal which are transformed into pendants, rings, bracelets, cuff-links and ear-rings.

She embraced other material such as wood,glass,and seeds of trees to remind us that our common source is EARTH....
